The Internet is clearly making its way into every business type in the world. In 1993 I was giving speeches to telecom companies about how this thing called the Internet would change the world, the amazing access it would give our child to knowledge unavailable in human history to the masses. Well… it certainly has changed the world.
From the business perspective almost every industry now understands how important the Internet, and more specifically, Google is, and how it can affect their business.. Our new client is a Law Firm in Grand Junction Colorado, who has been a part of the community for decades. Yet their Internet visibility is pretty none existent. This is one of the areas that Google or Bing really can not plug into the algorithms. It certainly isn’t fair, that Google or any search engine doesn’t give a business it’s fair visibility based on its reputation and longevity, but instead based on how many sites link to it. And by doing so, it completely discounts any professional reputation with the exception of whats on-line?
But that is the world business compete in, and we do not make up the rules.

Painting Contractor in Colorado
Matt Shoup owns M and E painting in Loveland Colorado. To my way of thinking Matt is exactly the type of entrepreneur that this country needs now. Nothing seems to slow down his constant growth and expansion, all based on the type of values you would want your children to have.
After graduating from College in 2003, Matt and his wife formed M and E painting after Matt was laid off from his early career. To make a long story short, (you can see it on the house painting page on their site) Matt has built a million dollar plus business, and his company is recognized by some of the largest small business organizations for great places to work, to fastest growing company. He is a true m
aster of small business.
He is writing a book that will be released later this year on how to have your company recognized and receive awards. I already am on the pre-order list, and I would recommend you do the same. I will up date you on the details as soon as they are available.
I have never heard Matt complain about the economy. I have never heard Matt blame anyone or anything for a failure. He is one of those individuals who just doesn’t let external things bother him.
I met Matt when one of his business associated introduced me to do sales coaching for a few months with his firm. They didn’t need much, but I am pleased to have him as a reference and have his written testimonial. SInce then (years ago) my company has provide Internet Marketing, and its been a real pleasure watching them grow.

Wells Fargo strategist says economic fears ‘overblown in this weeks Denver Business Journal.
It’s an interesting view, and he bases it on the fact that what is really slowing down the recovery is a lack of work place growth.
Wells Fargo actually see’s things turning around faster than in previous recessions. See the article here:

I am not sure many of the small business owners in Denver would agree, but it is nice to see some positive spin on this. I do think the next 16 months it will be very important for all of us to keep the most positive out look possible because we are moving into an election, and that means we will be hearing about how terrible the economy is 24-7.
I am a big believer in the consumer “mass mind-set”. Consumer spending is not going to pick up when all we hear about is the crisis and that we are facing doom.
Let’s all try to point out the good in the economy, while acknowledging the challenges. It’s the right thing for business in Denver and across the country.
